What is Kempton Hills?
Kempton Hills is a beautiful neighborhood in South Anchorage, that since its existence has been one of the most sought after neighborhoods in the Anchorage area! The Kempton Hills Homeowners Association (KHHA) was founded in 1983 and continues to foster and encourage a sense of community that is often hard to find. KHHA also helps to ensure that our neighborhood remains beautiful and home values remain high by ensuring homes, yards and common areas are maintained properly.
Who should live here?
Our neighborhood is wonderful for people in all stages of life! Some original homeowners live here as well as, retired couples, empty-nesters, young families and just about everyone in between. If you take pride in home ownership and want a great neighborhood to call home, consider living in Kempton Hills.
Ask anyone that lives here, and they’ll tell you that just entering the neighborhood reminds you that you’ve left the hustle bustle of ‘Anchorage’ and are now ‘Home.‘
What Makes Kempton Hills Special?
The People
The people here are some of the friendliest people in Anchorage! Neighbors wave and smile to each other when they pass by or are out working in their yard. There are many neighborhood children of all age ranges who play with one another. Older children often offer babysitting, lawn care or snow removal services. It is most definitely a place you can ask your neighbor for a cup of sugar! This close knit sense of community contributes to how great it feels to live here!
Getting Outside
With our well maintained sidewalks, community spirit, and the wide streets, it is a neighborhood to get outside and MOVE! People are always outside; whether it be working in their garden or yard, walking their dogs, washing cars, building a snow fort, sledding, going for a bike ride, jogging or simply watching the kids run through the sprinklers, neighbors get out and get to know each other.
The Trees
People are always commenting on how they love the trees in our neighborhood. We do too, the trees here are BEAUTIFUL! They really emphasize the established aesthetic of the neighborhood. It’s not too often you see neighborhoods with a variety of gorgeous 30 year old trees. Kempton Hills has trees that provide privacy, shade, visual texture and an overall natural beauty that you will be hard pressed to find in any other neighborhood.
The Homes
Nearly all of the homes here were built by award winning builders such as John Hagmeier and The Petersen Group just to name a couple. Homes and properties here have been impeccably maintained and some have been remodeled to ensure their quality and value is maintained.
Sense of Security
Homeowners look out for one another here. We have official neighborhood watches in effect on a couple of our streets and hope to have more in the future. Anyone who witnesses suspicious activities or persons is encouraged to call the proper authorities. We look after one another because we care for one another.
The Schools
Kempton Hills is zoned to some of the very best public schools in Anchorage. Huffman Elementary, Goldenview Middle School and South Highschool all have bus routes running through our neighborhood. If you would like to see more on these schools please see links below… Grace Christian K-12 and St. Elizabeth’s School K-8 are also within a mile or two of our streets and are great canidates for your school age children.
